Last Week I have mostly been...
Riding around Mexico City with the Mexico City Malportados Vespa Club, visiting the host stadium of 2 world Cup finals and popular handball pitch, watching a local derby between the quiet Cruz Azul and the tuneful loud UNAM Pumas fans.

Azteca Stadium
Host of 2 World Cups
Largest real football stadium in the world (arguably)
Constant reminders throughout the stadium of Diego Armando Maradonna's wonder goal when he strolled through the England midfield, defence and goalkeeper to tuck away one of the best goals ever - Why did it have to be against England
Constant reminders about the other goal in the same game.  You know the one.  The "Handball of God"

The huge oval stadium is just as dramatic on the inside as it is from the outside

Mexico City Malportados Vespa Club
On the way to the Pyramids outside Mexico City with Eric and the rest of the crew form the Mexico City Malportados Club

Cruz Azul 2 UNAM Pumas 1
Both of teams are based in Mexico City.  The Pumas were the away team and their fans were so much louder, tuneful and consistent with their cheering and singing I had to learn a couple of songs from Nestor his fiancé Paulina and the potential father in law....supporting the rival team!!!

"The Mouse"
I met a former boxer with over 50 professional fights to his name.  "The Mouse" is a sprightly 70 something chatterbox and a great local character
And Finally, I spotted and love this official poster and "team photo"  - look closely
There are only 10 players in the team!
Its amazing they decided to use this team photo on all the merchandise. I can't work out if
The player was air brushed out due to him leaving the club in bad circumstances or
The photographer thought that this was the best he could manage.
The team are rarely in the same place at the same time and they are always running around so 10 out of 11 is as good as it gets!!!
